Mike McGuinness, professionally known as Lempo, is an award-winning DJ and music producer. Founder of the Applique Music record label, the annual Eivissa Partido event and the Twisted Melon radio show. His career began in 2006 with DJ residencies at the now legendary Sankeys and Venus nightclubs in Manchester - where he earned the nickname ‘The Party Starter’ for his role as warm-up act for the headline artists. His success has seen him perform for many global club brands including Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Pacha and The Warehouse Project. As a radio presenter, he presented ‘The Lempo & Carr Show’ on Cheshire FM from 2010 to 2012 and ‘The Bitch Show’ on Unity Radio from 2012 to 2014. Lempo’s productions have gained several high profile commercial placements, most notably on Channel 4 (UK), The X-Factor (Australia) and Disney XD (USA). Over the years support from industry peers has come in the form of Andi Durrant, Danny Howard and Pete Tong - seeing radio play on stations such as BBC Music, Capital FM and Kiss FM. Lempo has signed material with many prestigious recording labels, including New York’s iconic Strictly Rhythm, Chicago’s genre defining Trax Records, Todd Terry’s In House Records and London powerhouse, CR2 Records. Collaborating with key industry figures such as K-Klass, Mark Hill (The Original Artful Dodger), Ruff Diamond and Will Clarke, along with a diversity of featured vocalists, such as Chuck Roberts, MC Flipside, Nancy Sinatra, Princess Superstar and Roland Clark. Lempo’s production credits also include remix commissions for household names, Snoop Dogg, General Levy and Dawn Penn.
